Public Administration

The National Diploma (ND) in Public Administration is a two-year program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to effectively manage public institutions, implement government policies, and provide public services. The program focuses on the principles of governance, public sector management, public policy analysis, and the legal frameworks that guide public administration.

Students will learn how public institutions operate, how policies are formulated and implemented, and how to manage human and financial resources in government agencies. The program also emphasizes the development of ethical decision-making and leadership skills necessary for addressing complex challenges in the public sector.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Governance and Policy Formulation: Understanding how government operates, how policies are created, and the role of public administrators in ensuring the effective implementation of these policies.
  • Public Sector Management: Developing management skills tailored to the public sector, including human resource management, financial management, and strategic planning.
  • Public Law and Accountability: Learning the legal frameworks and ethical standards that regulate public administration, with an emphasis on transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.
  • Local Government Administration: Understanding the functions of local governments and their role in grassroots development and service delivery.

The program also includes internships and real-world projects that allow students to gain practical experience in public administration. Upon completion, graduates will be prepared for careers in government, public service, or non-governmental organizations, or for further studies in public administration or related fields.
